Day 144

Back at Bowery Bay

May 22nd, 2012

Here we are again at the surprisingly delightful Bowery Bay Water Pollution Control Plant, whose workers have been known to dominate the city's annual Sludge Olympics.

  1. Classic 1939 Art Deco architecture and relief murals. Love the weathered-over-time verdigris finish of copper-plated entry facade above doors. Took 73 years of exposure to air/seawater to create that distinct patina.
