It’s not the most shoes we’ve seen

But their geographical extent is quite impressive. (There were another four or five pairs way up on a wire behind me as well.)

    the way the economy is I’m sure many of the former owners of those shoes wish they had them back

    Looks like laundry hung out to dry.
    I also thought “so that’s what people do with their old sneakers when they get a new pair.” They fling ’em up on a wire.
    Just hope they aren’t some kind of “stolen shoes off people” trophies.

    I watched a tv special once – I think it was one of those Extreme Makeover shows – where there were shoes hanging over wires like this. They said it was a signal that drugs are available in the neighborhood.

    That is crazy,they’re more shoes on those wires than on Palm Beach in my neighborhood…..Impressive.I personally don’t think it is gang related but more of a way to express yourself.

    while on a tour of south central, LA. The guide said that when a gang kills a rival on their patch, they chuck the shoes up on the wires as a warning to others.
