You can always see a photo’s location by clicking on “View on map” at the top of the image. (You might need to give it a minute to load.) This one was taken on the south side of Eastern Parkway, by the Franklin Avenue Shuttle station.
Hmm, that’s weird. Good to know, though. The other way you can see the location of a photo is to click on the photo, which will take you to that photo’s Flickr page. Then click on the small map in the upper right-hand corner, and that will show you the exact location.

That’s right….my vote is for the Pylon back to the real world. Becareful of the Sleestaks when it opens.

Actualy I can’t help but to think of a door stopper wedge while looking at this thing. What is the strap for??
This is the counterpoint to my walk across the US. Instead of seeing a million places for just a minute each, I'm going to spend a million minutes exploring just one place. By the time I finish walking every block of every street in all five boroughs, I'll have traveled more than 8,000 miles on foot — all within a single city. Details!
Your donations allow me to keep walking full-time. If you think what I'm doing is valuable and you'd like to offer some support, I would be very grateful. On the other hand, if you think I'm a worthless bum, feel free to email me and tell me to get a job, bozo. Both are excellent options!
“Whatcha gonna do with all that junk, all that junk against your trunk??”
Can we get a location?

It doesn’t work when I click on “View on map”. I get the same view of lower Manhattan with City Hall, no matter how long I wait. Bummer.

That’s right near my old house! I love that chunk of concrete. I hope you find out the story behind it! Go, Matt, Go!!
Obviously a sacrophagus–would love to be there at night when the hidden door creaks open!

Ocean Parkway, maybe? Someone must have really loved that tree.
the tree was likely quite tipsy and needed help standing up after a night of imbibing
I don’t know if NYC has tornatoes like where I live did last night….if so it’s a tree anchor.
IT’S A LEANING TREE STATUE HOLDER. ALL LARGE CITIES HAVE THEM. i THINK?
