I guess the purpose of this is to give blind people an audible warning that they're entering the street. There's another pillar facing this one on the other side of the pedestrian ramp.
Apparently a local tradition. I've seen about six of these around the Tri-Cities. What's holding the box in place?

Amanda emailed me a while back inviting me to stay with her and James when I got to Kennewick. Well, I got to Kennewick. They were wonderful hosts, fulfilling all my cleaning/eating/talking/laughing needs. After our great big spaghetti dinner last night, I learned from James, who works in IT, the kind of websites people actually visit while at work. Good news, all you employed people: this one is quite harmless by comparison! Amanda got up at the crack of dawn this morning just to see me off and send me on my way with a farewell card and gift.
How am I supposed to calculate my optimal deceleration with this kind of imprecise information?
Pizza for dinner, cake for dessert, and leftover pizza for breakfast... sounds like a slumber party!
